The Border British Blue Club held its Autumn Show and Sale on Wednesday 2nd October 2024, at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.
Knockagh Show King - Supreme Champion 4,200gns
The judge, noted suckled calf breeder, Neil Hardisty, chose as his Male and Supreme Champion, Knockagh Show King, from the Ervine family, Northern Ireland. Sired by Empire D’ Ochain and out of the Knockagh Lass flush, he realised 4,200gns to Mr. Baillie, Kirkowan, Newton Stewart.
Top Side Sumo - 4,000gns
The same purchaser also secured Top Side Sumo from Ross & Elaine Pattinson for 4,000gns. Sumo was by Dafydd D’Ochain and out of their noted show cow, Top Side Isla.
Beth Hill sold Kenray Thunder for 3,400gns. He was by the homebred Kenray Padrick and out of Kenray Orla. The successful bidder was Mr. Fish, Aspatria.
Stonebyres Sabrina - Reserve Champion - 3,000gns
Only two females were forward, the first, Stonebyres Sabrina, who stood Reserve Champion in the show, from Blaire & Shona Comrie, sold to Mr. Baxter, Scotby, Carlisle for 3,000gns and the young heifer, Hallfield Tyler from Stuart and Joel Gill sold to Messrs. Cadzow, East Lothian for 2400 gns.
