Record Price - £6,000 for 6 month old British Blue Heifer Calf

Allams held their 90th Christmas Show and Sale of Spectacular Calves and Beef Cattle in the RUAS, Showground, Balmoral, Belfast on Tuesday 26th November 2013. 

An exceptional Entry of Quality Livestock was presented to the Judges-John Currie, Kilmarnock, Scotland and Thom McMaster, Whitehead.   The Event was well attended By Visitors from Scotland, Wales and Southern Ireland.   

Judge John Currie  commented on the display of superb Calves and Beef Cattle presented as one of the best entry’s he has Judged in many years.   The sale was well supported by local Butchers, Wholesaler’s and Dunbia, Linden Foods and Omagh Meats three of the leading Meat Plants. 

On the First Sale of the day a record Price of £6,000 was paid for a 6 Month old Spectacular British Blue Heifer Calf, owned by S&K Williamson, Benburb- then sold for Export to a Buyer from Cork.  

The Supreme Beef Champion was exhibited by James Alexander, Randalstown, winning the Event for the first time with his Baby Limousin Heifer called Eddie Rocket, sired by Swarland Eddie and out of a British Blue X Limousin Cow weighing 650kgs and sold for £5,000, for export to Donegal. 

British Blue:- S&K Williamson, Benburb (unsold)  Reserve:- Clive Hoey, Fivemiletown, 770 Kgs at £3,000 Sold for export. 

Spectacular Calves:- The Champion Calf a Charolais Heifer shown by Alan Veitch, Lisbellaw sold for £2300.   Reserve Champion:- British Blue Heifer shown by S & K Williamson. Benburb Sold for the Record Price of £6,000.
