Special British Blue Sale at Leyburn

The British Blue Cattle Society sponsored the British Blue classes at the Show & Sale of Store Cattle at Leyburn Auction on Friday 7th February 2014.

Champion Shown By WC Porter & Sons

The Judge, Dave Hall, Malton, chose as his Champion, a heifer from Messrs. Porter, Riddings Farm, Reeth. This later sold for £1280 to Stephen White, Barnsley

Top price of the day was achieved by Digby & Georgina Laws, Hauxwell, with a British Blue heifer, which sold for £1380 to Nick & George Marwood, Harome

British Blue Rearing Calves Top £580

Also held on the same day was a Special Show for British Blue Rearing Calves.

Champion was a bull calf from J Simpson, Bishop Thornton, which realised £580 to Richard Turnbull. Reserve was claimed by D & S Pratt, Leeming, with another bull calf, which made £540 to the same buyer. Third prize was another bull calf from David Smith, Keighley which made £500.
