British Blue's Champion & Reserve at Kirkby Stephen Show and Sale of Suckled Calves

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen mart held their annual Prize show and sale of Suckled calves on Monday 3rd November 2014 where a catalogued entry of 596 were on offer.
In what was one of the strongest show of top quality calves to be seen at Kirkby Stephen mart, the judge Kay Miller awarded the overall championship to a very smart 6 month old Black British Blue cross heifer, sired by Lukeroyal Gladiator, from Messrs Brown, Asby Hall which went on to race to £2,350 selling to Messrs Okane, York.
Messrs Brown also took the overall reserve championship with another 7 month old British Blue cross heifer, also sired by Gladiator, which went on to sell for £1,700 to the judge, Kay Watson, Canonbie.
Trade from start to finish was excellent with the over 65 active buyers present. An overall average of £863.81 was achieved for 81 more calves sold on the year!
