British Blue X Heifer Tops Carlisle Breeding Sale at £8,500

On Friday 21st August 2015 Harrison & Hetherington held their sale of Beef Breeding cattle.
A great show of cows and heifers with calves at foot were presented to one of the largest crowds of buyers seen in Borderway for some time, with 88 outfits selling over £2000.
Messrs Vance of Bridgehouse Farming Co presented a run of outstanding cows and heifers with calves as well as in-calf heifers, which sold to a top of £8500 for 'Betty Boop' a British Blue in-calf heifer who has had an illustrious show career over the last couple of years. One of her top show credits was winning the 2014 Royal Highland Show Commercial Cattle Championship. Betty Boop is a daughter of the Blue bull Wold Newton Rambo and was out of a pedigree Limousin heifer.
Messrs Dickinson of High Knipe run of heifers and calves sold to a top price of £4200 for a British Blue cross heifer with a Limousin bull calf at foot. Messrs Wilson of Arngill House run of heifers and calves sold to a top of £4150 for a British Blue cross heifer with a Limousin cross heifer calf at foot. Colt Park Ltd consignment of heifers and calves sold to a top of £4100 for a British Blue cross heifer with Limousin cross heifer with calf at foot.
Messrs Jackson of Little Eccleston Hall sold the top priced British Blue stock bull, which sold to £4000.
