Calf Show a Winner with the Young - Saturday 22nd September 2018

Organised by the NI British Blue Cattle Club with support from the Bank of Ireland the calf show was a follow on from a young handlers event in Armoy earlier this autumn. Club chair Basil Dougherty affirmed that the theme of educating young people was running through British Blue cattle breeders activities this year. He also warmly thanked Dan Rodgers, who was judge for the day.

A training show in Downpatrick Mart for young people with a passion for rearing and showing young stock proved popular.

Champion was Springhill Noelle from J & S Martin, Newtownards and shown by Rebecca Adams

The top three in the young handlers event during the Blue calf show were, from right in front, Laura Neil, first, Emily Peters, second, and Harry McGinn, third. Adding their congratulations were, from left, Eamon McGowan, Bank of Ireland, Basil Dougherty, chair, NI British Blue Cattle Club and judge Dan Rodgers.

Rostrevor Max took the reserve championship for Pascal McGinn seen here with young Harry McGinn and Pascal McGinn Senior, all from Rostrevor.
