Supreme Champion

Keen bidding was order of the day at the autumn sale of Belgian
Blues, held at Dungannon Farmers Mart, on Saturday 30th October 2004.
Auctioneer, Trevor Wyllie, commented "There was fierce competition for
quality, with a number of purchasers going home empty handed." Supreme
Champion, Male Champion and top price, went to "Scad Hill United," an
October 2002 bull, sired by "As De Treffle Du Vanova" out of "Scad
Hill Skippy ET," exhibited by Noel Gilchrist, Downpatrick. He was knocked
down to D A Dunn, Donemana, Co Tyrone at 3,800gns.

Judge, Jim Sloan, from Kilkeel, Co Down, put up as his Female
Champion, Jack & Anne
Morrison's August 2002 born heifer "Chatham Utility," who found a
new home with Barry Chambers, Portadown, at a very respectable 3,000gns. Utility
was by the Morrison's senior stock sire "Lenborough Oliver" and out
of one of their top cows, "Chatham Mabel"

The Reserve overall championship going, deservedly, to "Knockagh
Van-Der-Hume ET," a young March '03 born bull, by the successful Belgian
sire "Affute Du Ry Ossogne" out of "Lukeroyal Princess ET," from
W J Ervine, Newtownabbey. Van-Der-Hume was also the winner of the Northern
Ireland Bull Derby. The successful purchaser was Mr. McCrystal, Clougher.
In the commercial sale a 390kg heifer, sold by John Young, made a very respectable £480
and was purchased by Eric Whiteside. The 11 Belgian Blue x commercials sold,
averaged £416. Northern Ireland Club Secretary, Robert McCormick, reported
that the sale " Exceeded all vendors expectations."
