This tone of the autumn sale was set, with the first animal entering the ring, out of the Chatham stable of Anne, Jack and David Morrison, attracting feverish bidding, from a packed ringside, to be knocked down for one of the leading prices of the day at 3,600gns. Judge, Dr. Miles McDermott, from Co. Be Good, an October ’06 born heifer, was sired by Cajoleur De Rettingny out of their homebred cow, Knockagh Vapour. She went to Southern buyer, Mr. T Jackson, Co Wicklow, for a very respectable 4,400gns.

The Reserve and Champion Male Droit Brutus ET, from Richard Mowbray was out of Springfield Ulanda, sired by the widely used sire Nonours De Wihogne and was knocked down at 2,800gns to Mr. G Heffernan, Co. Galway.
