Cogent Breeding Ltd seeks Moira Champion ‘Droit
Fabulous’
The ringside was full of keen onlookers at the Northern Ireland Blue
Cattle Club’s spring sale at Moira, on Saturday 31st March. Judge,
Boomer Birch, Beef Specialist at Cogent Breeding and owner of Pasturefield
Livestock, the home of ‘Boomer Blues’, put up as his Supreme
Champion and Champion Male, ‘Droit Fabulous ET’, an October
2010 bull, a son of ‘Gitan’ Du Pti’t Mayeur’ and
out of ‘Droit Clover ET’, bred by Richard Mowbray of Newtownstewart,
Co. Tyrone.

The Reserve Supreme Championship and Reserve Male Champion
going to ‘Drumlone Freddie ET ’, a July 2010 bull, a son
of ‘Bluegrass Cyclone ET’ out of ‘Tyddyn Ciara’ ,
from the herd of Kenneth Veitch.

From the small consignment of females, ‘Droit
Freda ET’,
a daughter of ‘Cajoleur du Rettigny’, out of ‘Droit
Bonnie’, claimed Champion Female with ‘Erneroyal Fiona
ET’ , a daughter of ‘Empire D’ OChain’, out
of ‘Reinbeck Rebonnie’, coming reserve.

The highlight of
the day being Cogent Breeding Ltd being very interested in purchasing
the Supreme Champion for their stud in Cheshire subject, obviously,
to testing.

Top priced bull on the day was ‘Chatham Falcon’ at
3150 gns, a son of ‘Paulern Verdi’ out of ‘Chatham
Bessy from the Chatham herd of the Morrison family. ‘Lakeview
Elite’,
being close on his heels at 3100gns, a son of ‘Lakeview Charie’ out
of ‘Knockagh Unanimous ET’.
‘Hillview Gail’, a daughter of ‘Blak Du Baty D’Eprave’ out
of ‘Hill View Camilla’ being knocked down at a top call
of 2500gns.
The Northern Ireland Blue Cattle Club being indebted to
all purchasers and in particular to our customers travelling up from
the Republic and also for the large consignment heading to Cornwall.

forward was good, with quality animals demonstrating good size, height
and length, that were very mobile and from easily calved families,
were sought after and easy to sell.’
