Chelford Spring Sale 20055th March 2005 NORTH WEST CLUB BREEDERS ENJOY RECORD SALE AT CHELFORD Whilst buyers broke the sale price record at Chelford on the 5th March 2005 by bidding Balleygrange Vinney to 11,600gns, North West members recorded a not insignificant occasion themselves. The Tamhorn herd of Jane & Danny Wyllie led the way with two of the top prices of the day. Tamhorn Venture a naturally born January 2003 bull by Elkehard Van de Wolvendreef out of Tamhorn Oriana and Tamhorn Vagabond an April 2003 son of Baron du bois Balloye out of Tamhorn Milly who was Female and Reserve Overall Champion at the Royal Show in 1997. Jane and Danny also sold a crossbred female by their Limousin bull out of Ollala Van de Wolvendreef. The striking heifer is a half sister to one of the top bulls bred from their herd, Tamhorn Ringmaster.
Graham Brindley sold two young bulls from his Bringlee herd. The March 2003 born Bringlee Votex by Gagnant Du Moulin Debaix out of Bringlee Roe Roe. Votex was reserve Junior Champion at the Cheshire Show 2004. Bringlee Vorlanda is a July 2003 bull out of Bringlee Orlanda and a son of Graham’s stock bull, Bringlee Sceptre who is by Sceptre De Bomal. Sceptre De Bomal has proved himself to be an exceptional performer siring quality pedigree and commercial stock.
The Astbury herd of Jim Barber had two entries one pedigree and one crossbred. The pedigree was Astbury Valliant an August 2003 son of Osborne van Terbeck out of Burton Trudie. The impressive crossbred steer was out of a Friesian crossbred cow and by his 2005 Royal Show Champion bull Three Ways Superstar. The well-grown 10 month-old steer stood top of his class in the previous evenings show.
Mick Heath, from his Norstaff herd, sold Norstaff Vinnie a March 2003 son of Birdswood Panda out of his homebred cow Norstaff Petula.
Jim Hollingsworth sold three 12 month-old crossbreds from his Afonwen herd. Two heifers of out Limousin cows, one by Torero and one by Campagnard. The third a steer also out of a Limousin cow but this time by Osborne van Terbeck. |
