Border Club Spring Sale 2004
Friday 14th & Saturday 15th May 2004
The above event on the 14th & 15th May 2004 was very much enjoyed by both
vendors and buyers of the North West Club and we would like to extend our thanks
to “the Borders’ and H&H for their kind and as always very
entertaining hospitality.

Stowbeck
Storm |
Top honours for our (North West) club went to Mark and Elaine Hartley (Pendle
herd).

Isabella
with Borders Club Chairman
Brian Wheatley |
Not only did their Black and White 4 year old bull Stowbeck Storm achieve
the fourth highest price of the day and the top price of the North West
vendors, but they proudly watched their eight year old daughter, Isabella,
in front of a packed gallery, receive her Champion Handler award which
she had won earlier in the year at the Borders Calf Show. Other notable successes were as follows:
Class 1
|
Tamhorn
Tiger |
Jane and Danny Wyllie’s Tamhorn Tiger (June 2001), by Totem out
of Noella, was first in his class, Senior Male Champion and Reserve
Overall Male Champion.
Class 8
|
Astbury Ultimate |
Jim Barber’s Astbury Ultimate (July 2002), by Sceptre out of Astbury
Opal, won his Intermediate class after a misinterpretation had occurred
and the steward had asked them to leave the ring, along with several
other exhibitors, only to recall all of them almost immediately. A very
amusing occurrence for the gallery but not quite so at that moment for
the exhibitors!! Class 11
|
Boothlow
Uzo and Boothlow Uno |
Keith Bellfield leading Boothlow Uzo (November 2002) and Janet Bellfield with
Boothlow Uno (November 2002), both by Radar out of Four Oaks Karina, were placed
second and third respectively in the same Junior class. Classes 18 and 14 respectively
