Almeley Pedro Tops First Worcester British Blue Sale

Almeley Pedro - 4,800gns

The inaugural British Blue sale at Worcester last Saturday 30th April was a great success, with Almeley Pedro from GL Morgan coming out on top at 4,800gns. The bull sired by Heatherview Jack took the eye of several potential purchasers, but was finally knocked down to SF & J.H Wagstaff, Rugby, Warwickshire.

Next at 4,500 gns was Twyning Ash Preston, from R & J Carter, Coaley, Gloucestershire. Preston had a carcase profitability index in the top 1% and very good growth rate figures. He was the pick of T.K & E.M Tolley, Redditch, Worcestershire.

Females topped at 2,500gns for an in calf Heifer from S. Madeley, Ross- on- Wye. Glewstone Opal sired by Bringlee Blackstar, sold PD’d in calf to AI sire Tenance De La Praule. Buying her was S. T Daly, Rugby, Warwickshire.

Bulls averaged £3,948

In calf Heifers averaged £2,625
