Southern Irish Heifer Celebrates Success at Stars of the Future Calf Show
Taking centre stage to judge the British Blue calves at the Stars of the Future Calf Show at United Auctions, Stirling, on Saturday 15th November, was Keith Bellfield, who found his first champion of the day in the form of Rahoon Holly.
Rahoon Holly
This September 2013-born Adajio sired heifer from S Robinson, Co Down, is out of Corrandulla Elaine and was tapped out as senior champion.
Standing reserve to her was the second prize and reserve senior heifer champion Auchenlay IO from Robert and Maimie Paterson. Sired by Heros Du Peroy she is out of Auchenlay Fairmaid and was champion at Agri Expo Calf Show last month.
Brownridge Blues Jackpot
In the junior section it was Brownridge Blues Jackpot from D Spours who took the top spot. This March 2014-born Newton Blues Elvis son is out of College Valley Fame.
Stonebyres Jessie
Standing reserve junior was the heifer champion Stonebyres Jessie from Shona and Blair Comrie. This Tamhorn Enterprising daughter is out of Stonebyres Georgina.
In the young handler class for the Blues Catrine Killen won the class with Ross Comrie standing second and Christopher Robinson coming third.
