2009 HERD VISIT
South West Club members were kindly invited by Mr Robin Carter of F
W S Carter & Sons, Greendale, Exeter to visit their herd of 520 commercial
beef cows of which the progeny is either British Blue or Charolais,and
go to slaughter between 14 and 16 months we also had an interesting talk
by their independent feed specialist Lupo Diepenbroek who gave us an
insight on how to achieve a DLW of 1.7kgs.
The day finished with a very pleasant meal over looking the sea at Landram
Bay.
