South West British Blue Club – Herd Competition 2011September saw the judging of our inaugural Herd Competition by Richard Carter of the Twyning Ash Herd. Richard made a whistle-stop tour over a very large area and was impressed by “the enthusiasm of the breeders and depth of knowledge of their own breed lines.” The results are as follows; Best Large Herd Best Small Herd Best Calf born in 2011 The Cups for these titles, as well as those for the points winners, were awarded at our annual Christmas Dinner and Prize-giving bash which was held on 3rd December at The Globe Inn, Sampford Peverell. We had a great turnout for the evening and were very pleased to welcome Richard and Julia Carter as well as representatives of our trophy sponsors from Penbode Veterinary Group, Alltech and our own society President, Gwyn Williams, on behalf of Frank Marshall Auctioneers. A good time was had by all and the dancing continued well into the night! Many thanks to our sponsors and we really appreciate you all joining us for this special evening, especially considering the long distances some had to travel!
