Calf Show 2011

The Wales and Borders British blue club held their pedigree and commercial calf show at Rhayader Livestock Market on Saturday the 12th of November 2011 by kind permission of Brightwells Auctioneers.

A special mention must go to Bibbys of Newtown, Agri Lloyd and Five Star breeders for sponsoring the classes.

Overall champion pedigree

Judge Adam Neachell of the Cromwell herd awarded the overall Champion to Brown Clee Granger from Nigel Pritchard, this May 2001 born Calf is Sired by Dafydd D'Ochain and out of Brown Clee Beauty.

The Reserve Champion went to Mathew Jones with his January 2011 born heifer, Graymar Gucci, this one was by Bringlee Blackstar and out of Bringlee Viv who bred the 2007 Royal Welsh Show Male Champion Bringlee Banjo.

The Reserve Male Champion went to Wyn Jones with Tanat Guardsman, Sired by Empire, this one is out of Faughanvale Cindy. Wyn Jones also took the reserve Female Champion with a January born Tanat Gem, a very attractive Empire Daughter again by Faughanvale Cindy.

Crossbred champion

In the Crossbred Section Judge Mr Mike Rowlands awarded the overall Champion to B & J Griffthis with a November 2010 born heifer Sired by Annanwater Vince.

The Reserve Champion went to Bowen & Bowen with Freddy. This one is an April 2011 born steer calf Sired by a Limousin and out of a British Blue Cross dam.
